Vintage Late 1940's Green Striped Sharkskin Taffeta Wide Leg Jumpsuit!

Whew, let me tell YOU; I wish I could be modeling this jumpsuit, it's over-the-top FABULOUS! Photos don't do it justice!

Features:

- absolutely STUNNING shimmering sharkskin taffeta in shades of forest green and olive green, but olive green appears gold depending on how the light hits it
- short V cut neckline
- V back with keyhole
- V cuts into the sides of the armholes
- fitted bodice with darts at bust
- nipped in waist with darts at midsection
- wide palazzo pant flared legs
- beautifully lined up stripes at the seams to create chevron pattern
- back metal zipper closure with hook and eye behind neck
- bodice is lined in a white thin tissue cotton
- no tags or labels; expertly crafted with excellent attention to detail and perfect tailoring

There has been a bit of a debate on the era of this. Some have said it is from the 1960's. I have done my thorough research and believe it is a custom made late 1940's, early 1950's transitional piece. The bodice shape is right out of Claire McCardell's book; still wide like they loved in the 1940's, yet softened in the mode of Dior's New Look.

Excellent condition! A few small snags/nicks on the fabric of one of the legs, which is insignificant and mentioned for accuracy. The inner lining of the bodice has some discoloration which obviously isn’t seen when worn.

Bust: 34"
Waist: 26"
Hips: free*
Rise: 28" from crotch seam to hem
Inseam: 22" (drop crotch)
Length: 51"

*Hips must be a maximum of 36" to slip into the garment. If the zipper was changed out for one that was slightly longer, it could accommodate larger hips.
