This is a large heavy teapot in an Art Deco beehive style. It has an off-white background with brown accents and a darling pink flamingo stepping in blue water with green foliage.
The pot is 5 1/2" tall, 9” from handle to tip of the spout, 4 ¼” across on top, and 6” around its middle. It holds about 6 cups.
There is a tiny chip on the inside top of the spout (see picture). There are fleabites and discoloration in the finish, which would have occurred during the production process. There’s a chip in the underside of the lid near a divot (the divot would also have happened during production) and another miniscule chip on the underside of the lid. There’s some discoloration (from tea presumably) inside and a few spots of discoloration outside that could be age spots. All in all, though, the teapot is in great shape for its age.
The pot was made in the 1940s. Marked on the bottom "Porcelier Trademark Vitreous China.”
