This vintage handwoven basket has a lid and arched handle. It is made of what I think is split wicker and wood strips. There is a strip of faded red near the bottom; the rest is a natural color.

The basket is 11” from the bottom to top of the handle and 8 ½” from the bottom to the top of the lid. It is about 11” wide at its widest part. It can sit on the floor as it was probably intended or be displayed any way you want!

I don’t know the basket’s origin, maker, or age. There’s an old sticker that looks like a railway sticker near the bottom on one side that’s torn so I can’t make it clearly out to see if that provides any clues.

There are several areas where the strips are broken, missing, or frayed. See pics. It is also discolored in several spots. I have a few more pictures than I was able to post; let me know if you want to see them.
