Vintage Handmade Yellow Chiffon & Taffeta Modest Long Sleeve Empire Waist Gown

Beautiful empire waist gown sewn in the 60's or 70's by Sherryl Evans, a local Spokane seamstress who passed away in 2020.

Scoop neck, sleeveless lining

Sheer overlay that comes all the way up to a high neck line and sleeves that extend to the wrist

Wrist has several buttons, which actually snap for easy fastening

Zips up the back

My suspicion is that the hem of the dress got caught in the wheel of a cart or something, because when I received it, there was a massive black stain on the front and a tear near the side seam. The good news is that with some work, most of the stain came out and I was able to repair the tear. There is still a faint grey stain near the bottom of the skirt and on one of the cuffs, all included in the photos above. They are so faint they look like shadows and aren't likely to be apparent when worn. I won't be trying to get them out as I don't want to over work the material.
