I personally am obsessed with/collect all-things-cherub, so I was so excited to find this piece. The sculptural details of this piece make it a wearable work of art. The character of cupid as we know it is rooted in the myth involving his Greek counterpart, Eros. In Greek mythology, Eros oversaw passion and physical desire. He struck his targets' hearts with his bow, and in the words of Hesiod, he "loosens the limbs and weakens the mind." This piece was made as a brooch and can be worn as one, but I especially love it as a pendant on a choker. It comes on this luxurious black Swiss double-faced velvet ribbon, which can be adjusted for length. Measures 1 7/8" long x 1.25" wide.
