This is a detailed cameo of a Roman or Grecian woman with a hair comb carved relief in a red jasper colored glass. A cameo typically reflects a small scene or figure carved in relief, so it protrudes out towards the wearer. The pendant measures 2 x 1.25 inches. Since it is carved glass, it is a weighty, substantial necklace. It hangs from a 24 inch antiqued gold small link cable chain and closes with its original spring clasp. The antiqued gold plating has worn off of most of the pendant, please see images.
