Vintage Late 40s to Early 50s Print Dress by Famous Frocks
Dark blue, yellow and white. Back metal zipper. Bows at back waist and sleeves.
No size tag. Based on measurements I'd estimate this at a modern XS, possibly S, but do check measurements against a garment you own.
32-34" max bust (17" underarm to underarm), 24" waist (12" across fitted waist), 34" hips, 15. 5" long to waist, 43" length. 1. 5" hem allowance. Model is 5'1" 31/23/34 and mannequin is 5'8" 32/24. 5/34.
No material tag found, luxurious non-stretch, thin and smooth with a softness if I rub it between my fingers. Likely rayon.
The dress is in very good condition with minor flaws that are not easily found: see closeup collage and photo of underarm area. Bottom: small faint discoloration on white material within cowl, the cowl drapes so this is hidden! There is also a horizontal snag on the cowl on left side of photo and short horizontal snag on other side of neck. Tiny little fray on yellow to right side of neck. Top right of collage: small fray above zipper and chipped paint on zipper pull. Bottom right: a couple thin, short frayed cuts above the waist. Top left of collage: small discoloration on white material on mid front skirt. Photo of underarm area: another thin run or snag, this one vertical.
