Vintage Designer Pauline Trigere 50s 60s Heavy Bright Red Coat

WOW An incredible piece from the designer Pauline Trigere. Pauline Trigère (1908/9 – 2002) was born in Paris and immigrated to the United States in 1937. She reinvented ready-to-wear fashion, matching form to function with bold prints and architectural silhouettes to create a distinctly modern female aesthetic. Her garments were known for sophisticated and structured tailoring -- always elegant but never frilly or fussy -- and the best of these were her coats and dresses made from fine wools. Trigère's loyal clients included Grace Kelly, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Elizabeth Taylor, Kay Wiebrecht, and Evelyn Lauder. To see Trigère’s designs in action, look no further than the 1961 classic Breakfast at Tiffany’s, in which Trigère dresses the character played by Patricia Neal. For more information on her visit the Vintage Fashion Guild.

This incredibly warm and fuzzy coat is perfect for you people in the cold North - or if you’re like me and cold all the time. The red and black plaid knit is so fun and unique The structure to this incredible piece is like nothing I have ever seen - the back of it is almost like a Watteau back. Coupled with the cool rhinestone button and its pockets - and I would say this piece is a show stopper Please note - this baby is HEAVY - so make sure you have a sturdy hanger Best fits Small to Large .

Measurements: s

Bust: 38 inches

Waist: up to 43 inches

Good vintage condition - Please see the last three photos for reference. There is overall wear to the knit fabric - as though its pilling. There are a few rhinestones coming off of the buttons and there is some loos stitching to the lining. Priced accordingly for this designer.
