This elegant cake stand is made of pressed glass with a silverplate pedestal. It is 12 ½” in diameter and almost 4" tall.

I have a couple of these—I love them not only for serving desserts or appetizers, but also for displaying jewelry and other things. Put a glass dome on top of some cool little items and you have an instant tableau!

The plate slopes down slightly to the center. The glass is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or scratches.

The silverplate on the outside of the pedestal doesn’t shine up brightly; perhaps it was meant to have a softer sheen. It looks more like a shiny pewter. There is some tarnish where the pedestal is attached to the glass plate; I suppose that could be polished if you unscrew the two pieces. I don’t really notice it, especially since anything on the plate will hide it. The inside is pitted and rusty in places, but of course you don’t see that.
