This vintage brooch is made of coated or lacquered paper mache. Earth tone colors are used, tending towards brownish to copper colors. For its newest life, I enhanced that copper color by mounting this half circle shape on open metal copper fan shaped backing.
With the natural shades, this is a neutral brooch, one that could be worn in ever so many ways so many times. Because it is paper mache, it is also very lightweight.
The overall size is 2 and 1/3 inches by 1 and 3/4 inches.
Of course, this brooch, with its versatile magnetic back that will keep the brooch secure in whatever direction you put it, can be worn in any direction you choose.
As a bonus to the new owner this magnetic-back brooch will arrive with a complimentary scarf, as shown in these photos. The scarf and the brooch are both wonderfully useful accessories whether worn together or separately.

With your thumb, PUSH and SLIDE the top magnet off the bottom magnet. (DO NOT try to pull them apart because they are too strong.) Remember to always SLIDE.
Position your brooch anywhere convenient on top of your clothing and place the removed magnet beneath your garment and in back of the top magnet. Make sure you have the color-coded portion of the back magnet on the outside of the back. The 2 portions of the magnets will immediately bond together to create a secure attachment.
When you are ready to remove the brooch, remember to use the same technique you used to put it on. Always SLIDE the bottom magnet off.
