This gorgeous cardigan is pale yellow wool with extensive beading around the top and sprinkled further below. The beads are white glass pearls, white seed beads, and clear glass bugle beads. Since cropped cardigans are in style right now, you’ll be even trendier by wearing a vintage one!

I would consider this a size medium to large. It has a size tag that says 40 but today’s sizes don’t equate, so please go by these measurements to determine if it will fit. It is about 40” underarm to underarm, 30” around the bottom (which would fall at the waist or above) and 18” long from the shoulder to the bottom. The sleeves are about 21” long. Of course, if you don’t button the buttons, it can be a little larger.

It has glass white pearl buttons down the front. The lining is white. The lining is in great shape, but it has light stains along the neck and in several spots. Most are brown age spots but a few are blue. There is one small stain spot on the interior bottom cuff. None of the stains show on the outside. See pics.

There do not seem to be any missing beads. Some may be a little loose, but do not appear in danger of falling out. There were several small moth holes that have been mended and covered with beads.

Given the age of this sweater, I would consider the beads somewhat fragile so suggest handling it gently and being careful not to catch the sequins on anything when you’re wearing it.

There may be some light pilling on the wool. I pulled obvious pills but didn’t do anything more aggressive than that.

The maker’s label says “San San Sam Roys Angora & Cashmere. These were commonly made in Hong Kong in the 1950s or 1960s.
