Vintage Art Deco Revival Bib Necklace and Post Earrings Brass Gold Red Blue Green Glass Beads

This is a set of a stunning vintage Art Deco Egyptian revival bib brass and glass necklace with matching earrings.

The necklace has graduated rows of what I believe are brass scarabs. Along both sides and the bottom are clusters of dangling gold painted glass tube beads with tips of green, blue or red--zoom in for a closeup of these beauties. The link chain is 15 ¼” long and the necklace hangs 10”. It has a spring ring closure.

I believe the brass is plated but I don’t know for sure. There is some discoloring on the metal. The glass beads also have some discoloring in areas but are intact with no chips or cracks.

The earrings have the same gold tube beads and have a metal leaf at the top. They are 1 ½” long and 1 ¼” wide. The original clip backs were replaced with brass earwigs. While purists may disagree about switching the earrings from clips, I think it’s more practical and allows the wearer to showcase these beauties without being pinched by clips! The beads have discoloring in some places but have no chips or cracks. One of the earrings has a bead tip that looks like it might have been a replacement at some point because it’s larger and almost clear from the color being worn away.

Made in the 1920s-1930s. The style became popular during the Art Deco period, after the 1922 discovery of King Tut's tomb.
