These stunning dance/theater costumes were made for Broadway or other Theatrical Productions. They were designed by Award-Winning Costume Designer Micheal-Jon and all bear his tags along with tags for IN Costume New York.
This listing is for the Army styled costumes that are made up of a; vest, shirt, shorts/skirt, and hat. The costumes are extremely well made. This set has a navy styled vest of satin backed gold lame. The vest has wide lapels in the front that wrap around the back to form a cape with the underside being lined in blue satin. There is also a blue satin tie in the front that velcro's under the lapel for ease. The vest is fitted and closes with hook and eyes along with snaps down the front. These uniforms, while all are matching, have individual details. I cannot show each uniform as I can only post 10 but I am happy to provide more photos if you want. The second photo also shows the individual touches that the uniforms display.
The blouse is the same between the two styles Army and Sailor (Sailor style is listed separately). It is a lightweight pin-striped rayon and has a wide v-neckline with a peter pan-ish collar that is decked out in rhinestones. The blouse is fitted with tucks at the waist and has a long zipper down the back that extends past the waist of the blouse. I am not sure why the zip is so long but it will help keep the blouse tucked in. The sleeves of the blouse are my favorite feature of the costumes. They are massive balloon sleeves that are cuffed at the wrist and secured with velcro and decorated with rhinestones.
This style of the costume could have short bottoms or a skirt depending on which number uniform you are looking at. The shorts are made of the same gold lame that is satin backed as the vest. They are high waisted and zip up the back. The front of the shorts are pleated with some of the shorts having rhinestone buttons down the pleats. The sides of the shorts have rhinestone stripes down the sides. The shorts are going to fit like bootie shorts and are definitely short. The skirt that comes with these uniforms are tight-fitting mini skirts. They are also made of gold lame and have a zip in the back with a hook closure on the waistband. The skirts have a kick pleat in the back that makes it easier to move and dance in.
The costume also comes with a hat, for this set, 3 have navy styled caps and 2 have the Garrison styled caps that the army costumes have. The hats have horsehair tabs so that they may be secured to the hair with bobby pins.
These costumes are quality made and have a wonderful history. In my research I was not able to find anything about these ones in particular but the uniforms have the names of the girls that wore them, and with each being just a little different give personality to them. These are beautiful and will look stunning on any stage or wherever you chose to wear them. All costumes are in great shape, have been professionally cleaned, and are ready to wear.
