She’s a Mod. Phenomenal RARE Deadstock Vintage 1960’s mega mod, incredibly buttery soft jet black leather coat with extra large front button closures, 2pc sleeve, wide rounded collar, gathering details galore, & iconic rounded front gathered patch pockets, from Robert Hall Clothes, serving major Twiggy vibes.
Robert Hall Clothes, Inc was established in 1937 in Waterbury, CT and quickly became an East Coast retailer, manufacturing only in the USA. In the 1970’s as garment manufacturing started moving overseas, Robert Hall stood its ground, continuing to offer tailoring and custom fit garments, and continued to support its US production, while other stores moved to “ready to wear”. Sadly this is what contributed to their bankruptcy and they had to close all stores in 1977.

Side note - I tested the buttons to confirm if Bakelite through the 409 test.. no yellowing. I didn’t have the heart to remove the buttons to do the hot water test, so as it stands, these are just beautiful mega mod buttons accompanying an absolutely exceptional beautiful coat.
