This dress is seriously unreal— it is so well made. Its exceptional construction features a nipped waist with princess seams, and a mermaid skirt with a bit of tulle underneath, to support the ruffle and emphasize the hourglass shape. I love the tiers to soutache trim at the bottom, and it's crafted from the most luxurious silk velvet. The square neckline is so elegant, and the armholes dip a bit lower than usual, lengthening the frame. It was made in the early 1960s by fashion label Claudia Young. Closes in the back with a zipper.
