Fabulous Bonnie Cashin for Sills chamois leather tunic dress with fringe, likely made in the early 60s. A similar design can be seen in Bonnie Cashin's fashion sketch called "My War Dance Is For Peace" (we suspect this is the same dress, but it appears that a previous owner cut the bottom fringe off and hemmed the bottom). Made from light tan chamois leather, it fastens with a matching leather cord at the chest, and is lined. No size tag, fits like modern S: shoulders - 15in, bust - 34in, waist - 34in, hips - 38in, shoulder to hem - 32in, fringe length sleeves - 27in. Preowned/vintage (55+ years old) with definite signs of use and prior wear: spots and some color variation to exterior (see images 8-12 for examples); interior lining has been cut on one side (see image 8), another side has popped stitches and needs repair. Some fringe is missing from the sleeves and some has been re-attached (see last two pics for examples). Still an incredible and rare piece despite its flaws!
