Exquisite handkerchief from the Victorian era featuring a beautiful embroidery and the original owner's signature in the corner. This piece came from an estate in upstate New York. It is signed "Metta Mann." I found it alongside another antique handkerchief signed "M.B. Mann" (also available from Chloris Vintage). I was able to find a record of a Metta B. Mann graduating from the State Normal School in Geneseo, NY in 1892 but did not find any other information about her. She had fine taste in handkerchiefs, that's for sure! The embroidery on this piece is absolutely stunning.

Condition: Very good vintage condition. There is yellowing and wear commensurate with 100+ years of storage. Due to its age, I have not attempted to launder this piece.

This handkerchief measures 13 inches by 13 inches.
