Victorian Rare Gorgeous 1840-60s White Kid Leather Booties$800.00
These are remarkable little victorian booties made of soft cream kid leather from ca the 1840s to the 1860s. The booties are to the ankle and have spiral lace-ups on the inside of the foot. The boots have a very square toe and a small spool heel.
Condition
The boots are overall in great condition considering their age. The leather in some spots is a little stiff and there are some small cracks. The original laces are almost completely missing with only small segments left including one of the original tiny tiny brass aglets that is just an amazing little piece of history. The lacing holes are all hand-sewn and in good condition.
The shoes are very narrow compared to modern shoes and are a small size, maybe a US women's size 3 but these shoes are for display only.
The gloves came with the shoes and are just as small and dainty as the shoes. The gloves are also made of cream kid leather. The gloves are simple and end at the wrist, they close with an interesting brass fastener that is like a hook and eye on the inside of the wrist.
Condition
The gloves are in overall good condition with one small hole next to the fastening on the (right/left) glove. The gloves are still soft and supple but are very small and would only fit a child today.
