This is a wonderful little 60s mini dress that is definitely a bit victorian inspired. The dress is two pieces; the overdress and a slip. The overdress is made of a black net with swiss dots that is so sweet they almost look like hearts to me. The dress is long-sleeved and has little lace ruffles at the cuffs. The neckline on this dress is the most fun with it having a higher neckline that is wonderfully adorned with black lace ruffles that continue down the front of the dress. They mimic pintucks on Victorian blouses. The dress is pretty straight cut but does have a waist sash of black satin ribbon at the empire waist. The skirt hangs straight down from the waist and is lined in an additional layer of the net for structure. The dress closes up the back with both snaps and hooks and eyes.

The slip-on this dress is almost worthy of being its own dress! It is that good. It is a simple, lightly fitted, black slip. The slip is made of a wonderful satin-backed crepe that just handles so nicely. It is cut straight at the neckline and is shaped with darts at the bust. The slip has a zipper up the back for closure and tiny spaghetti straps of darkness.

Condition:

The dress is in great condition with the only flaw being that there is some fading to the swiss dots. The fading is mostly in the underarms and bust area. If both are worn together, the fading blends in well. Other than that the set is in great shape and has been professionally hand laundered and is ready to wear.
