This is a small, sweet Victorian era heart shaped locket on an 16 inch fox tail chain. Both are gold plated with slight wear on the back bottom of the heart. The gold plated heart has a bloomed gold finish. Bloomed gold called for the deletion of some alloys from the gold to give it a matte finish. There are makers marks on the back, which I can only make out," 1/29" and ,"GP". The etched front of the heart is a starburst design in the middle with a tiny cut rock quartz and three flowers and vines. It opens to reveal two areas to put photos or hair. It measures .75 inch. It is the typical French forget-me-not bridal style of these necklaces popular from the 1880's through the 1920's.
