Victorian/edwardian Edwardian Antique Bodice with Embroidered Trim$180.00
This black silk bodice from the 1880s or early 1890s features the most gorgeous, ornately embroidered trim in soft pink, sea foam green, and gold. It closes with several layers of hooks and eyes. There are some extra eyes at the neck (likely for a collar) as well as three extra hooks on the interior back (to attach to a skirt or bustle). The interior of the bodice is lined and has boning.
Measurements
This piece is a bit too small for my size 2 dress form, so I think it fits closest to a modern 0. However, please review the measurements before purchasing.
Bust: 30 inches
Waist: 24 inches
Length: 17 inches
Condition
- Excellent condition for its age.
- The trim has come detached from the back on one side, but this can easily be fixed with a few stitches.
- There's wear to the bottom left center near the closures, but it's not visible when hooked.
- No holes or tears.
- I have not laundered this piece due to its age. It may have a faint musty smell.
- Wearable with care, but also great for display or study.
