A stunning Victorian bonnet in amazing condition! Professional construction with no design or manufacture labels present. This incredible hat is done in a very deep navy blue velvet featuring a royal blue silk piping, a baby blue ruffle, and a vivid cerulean blue ribbon embellishment that is moire on one side and matching velvet on the other. This bold ribbon detailing climbs up either side and hangs with long tails that are to be tied at the chin.

The interior of the hat is lined in black mercerized cotton. The intended fit is as shown, at the back rear crown of the head with the ruffles onto at the hairline. The ribbon ties at the chin but hair or hat pins may also be used at your discretion to further secure.

Condition is listed as very good plus to near excellent, particularly with regard to age. 100% wearable and sturdy. I note some minor velvet edge wear to the very outer edge of the front of the bonnet. The silk piping shows some age and wear, this is the least significant embellishment and this notation is hardly visible without close inspection. A hint of discoloration wear the baby blue ruffle would have touched the forehead.

The rest of the structural velvet and the entire cerulean ribbon is excellent with no notes of damage or discoloration! Such a treat to find such an early piece in gorgeous condition! This hat is a fantastic addition to an advanced collection.
