Victorian Black Dress Bodice and Skirt$445.00
Beautiful early 1890s (perhaps 1891-92) dress consisting of a skirt and bodice.
The style reminds of a military uniform, with moire silk ribbons and several decorative buttons down the front of the bodice in a v-shape. The bodice has puffed sleeves and is structured like a jacket, flaring out past the tailored waist.
It is a black silk faille, the bodice lined with soft printed cotton and fully boned. Hook and eye closures down the center front and also down the side/front of the overlapping panel.
Skirt is lined with polished cotton and is bustled at the back. It has two full layers and is quite heavy. The waistband is polished cotton with two hook and eye closures.
A very lovely and unique set!
