Another stunning Victorian bonnet in impeccable condition. Professional construction with no design or manufacture labels present. The hat is styled as a bonnet with a bold black silk velvet foundation, trimmed in a textured silk and grosgrain ribbon and featuring jet black bead embellishments. The top of the features ribbon bows with sturdy internal wires that can be shaped in so many ways, shown here with pert bows.

The ribbon detailing progresses down the side of the bonnet with a bit of detailing at the rear and the same ribbon also ties at the chin. The top of the bonnet also has a large 3 inch long jet beaded barrette attached and more jet beadwork at the rear. The interior of the hat is lined in a black mercerized muslin. So much detailed work, this would have been a very expensive hat in its day.

Condition is listed as excellent. I am hard pressed to find an issues at all. I will note only a hint of edge fray to the ends of the ribbon and perhaps a note of handling.. Otherwise this stunning hat is as near pristine as the day it was made. An impressive piece to add to an advanced collection.

The bonnet has an open bottom and a flex fit internal wire frame. There is no complete interior circumference to measure so it is listed as one size fits most.
