Extremely fine pair of boots, circa 1890s, with pointed toes and toe stitching. By the maker F. Mayer Boot and Shoe Co., a Milwaukee company founded in the 1880s.
The factory, built in 1892 and known as "The Fortress," still stands today and opened a couple of years ago as a residential building. There are several interesting write-ups and photos of this cool building online, definitely worth a look.
In excellent condition for their age, these boots do not appear to have been worn much, though they do show signs of age and some scuffing/color loss to the leather. Judging from the style, they were likely worn as dress boots.

+++ Condition +++
Beautiful condition overall, especially considering their age. Some wear to the leather and a bit to the silk around the tops. The soles have some wear also.
Although they aren't particularly fragile, these rare and beautiful pieces of history deserve to be treasured and preserved. They are truly museum worthy.
Because of this, I would not recommend them for regular wear, but they would likely be wearable with extra care for a photoshoot. However they are best for display or study.
