Victorian Antique Hand Quilted Green Silk Petticoat As-is

This is a wonderful mid-19th-century quilted silk petticoat. The petticoat has a linen waistband with 3 additional button holes and a glass button to fasten. I am not sure why there are so many buttonholes but it's a fun detail. The skirt is made of an olive green silk charmeuse with some sort of batting between the brown polished cotton. The quilting has traditional diamond shapes on the top, and at the hem, it has a more intricate pattern with looping shapes. There is lovely cartridge pleating on the back to give the skirt volume and there is box pleating around the sides. The hem has a wool braid to protect the hem. The skirt is entirely hand-sewn.

Condition:
The skirt is in okay condition for its age with some damage to the hem of the skirt. There is a tear and hole in the skirt. In one spot the hole has gone through both the silk and the cotton layer. The other spot just above it is just through the silk. There is also some gentle wear to the silk, still mostly in the hem. The other thing to note is there are some loose running stitches that make up the quilting and pattern. This is still a wonderful little piece of history and is a great piece for study.
