Circa mid 1800s. My estimate is approximately 1850.

Commonly called a Mantle, this cape is made of black silk.

Beading at neck, Lapel, and back

Trimmed all around the edges with lace

No sleeves, this rests on shoulders with slits at sides enabling one to raise your arms comfortably

Closes with hook and eye at front

Condition is very good for age. Unlined. I see very few blemishes. Some beading is loose or missing and the braid trim is a little faded from age.
