With the original 1980's paper hang tag that shows a retail price of $425, this GILLIAN floral print silk suit has never been worn. Made in Korea, the silk is a lightweight multicolor, with thin gold metallic thread accents throughout. Hip length, the collarless blazer has one dome style 1 and 1/2 inch front button, plus two hidden snaps to hold it closed at the V-neckline front. Slim cut, the matching skirt has a back zipper. Fully lined, inside it is a solid dark burgundy color.

The 1980's size label is Size 8. Sizing standards have changed quite a bit over the years, so please do not rely on that label. Instead, use these measurements to make sure this will fit you.

For the Blazer
Shoulder to shoulder is 17 inches.
Sleeve length is 23 and 1/2 inches.
Armhole opening is 22 inches.
Bust is 36 inches.
Waist is 31 inches.
Full length is 31 inches.
Hemline width is 40 inches.

For the Skirt
Waist is 26 inches.
Hip is 38 inches.
Full length is 23 inches.
Back center slit is 4 inches.
Hemline width is 35 inches.

Versatile, either piece can also be worn with other coordinating separates. Wear this blazer over other solid color dresses, pants or skirts. It can be worn fully buttoned or open front. Of course, the slim skirt is even more versatile to wear with sweaters, blouses or tank tops.

At the front of the blazer there are two hidden snaps. One is by the button and one is mid way in the center top. For those times you want the blazer fully closed, those help hold it in place.

Worn together the suit is a classic treasure, with just enough pizzazz from the metallic accents to make it event-ready.

Each of the pieces is fully lined, there are internal shoulder pads in the blazer jacket and the two flaps on front faux pockets there as trim only. There are no pocket is either the skirt or the blazer.

Designer details are evident throughout, from the beautiful silk multicolor fabric to the seams, to the statement button. Colors in the fabric are gold, burgundy red, dark green and deep brown.

It is in Mint Never Worn Vintage condition. As you can tell from the photos, there are no exterior stains, holes, or faded areas. The snaps, button and hooks and eye are intact and the skirt zipper is in excellent working order.

When I bought this (from a high-end boutique that had gone out of business years ago) the owner told me the suit had been worn in a charity fashion show. That accounts for the light perspiration stains on the inside of the sleeve area. That minor issue should not affect you use of this set. However, to make any new owner fell better about their purchase, I have listed it at a much lower price than you would normally find a never worn GILLIAN 1980's designer suit.
