The Rebel is a book-length essay by Albert Camus, which treats both the metaphysical and the historical development of rebellion and revolution in societies, especially Western Europe. Originally published in 1951 in France, this American edition was published in 1956 by Vintage. It has a cool mid century cover design by Leo Lionni.

In very good vintage condition, a previous reader has underlined some of the text otherwise just normal signs of wear and age.
