Beautiful and extremely rare edition of The Illustrated American Stage, a first edition published in 1901 by R. H. Russell. This is described as a "Pictorial Review of successes and players" from that time. It truly is an amazing collection of beautiful photographs and illustrations from the period. Some of the "players" featured include; Maude Adams (who sometimes played a young man), Sara Bernhardt, William Gillette, Julia Marlow, Annie Russell and many many more.

Just an amazing book, very hard to do it justice with just 10 photographs. It's in good antique condition overall. This was a reference book at an art college, so it does have stickers and markings from this and definite signs of wear and age. It is also a large book at 12 x 10 with at least 100 photos and illustrations.
