In a classic bright red and black bamboo print, this vintage cheongsam style dress is the body-hugging one-piece dress, also known in English as a "mandarin gown". On both sides of the skirt 21 inch side slits will show off your legs as you sit or walk in this sexy red dress.

Unfortunately there are no attached fabric or designer labels. To be safe I dry cleaned this fabulous dress, so it will come to you freshly clean and ready to wear.

As you can see in the photos, the color is a deep red, with an embossed floral pattern in black.

A keyhole bodice closes with a hook and eye frog style top clasp. The collar is a mandarin style and this dress is sleeveless.

Solid black shiny satin seam binding accents the side slits, the collar and the edges of the gown along the arm holes.

A 21 inch long back zipper makes it very easy to get into this dress.

A bit of history about this style; based on centuries worth of fashions that were looser in fit, the form-fitting cheongsam was created in the 1920's in Shanghai as a more modern way to dress. It was made fashionable by socialites and upper class women.

Very well made, this dress is a shiny exterior and it is fully lined, as you can see where I folded the slits open so that the interior is visible.

Made in the traditional style, this dress shape has a slight indent for the waist, and the rest is fitted and lean, plus it narrows again at the hemline.
