For a stylish black and white suit that is anything but ordinary, this vintage St. John Collection by Marie Gray black knit blazer and skirt set with white linear trim is your answer. Box cut style, the blazer has cream and gold SJK enamel buttons. The slim skirt features one button in the center front waistline. Original paper hang tags remain attached, so you will be the first to wear these pieces. In the early 1990's the original retail cost of this blazer was $750 and the skirt was $245, for a combined cost of $995. It will come to you just as when it was purchased, in As New Mint condition and at this new bargain price.

The tags are size 4, however please use the measurements below to make sure this will fit you. These were taken while the knits are NOT stretched, except as noted for the skirt's waist.

For the Blazer:

Sleeve length is 18 inches, with the under arm length at 11 inches
Bust is 38 inches
Waist is 38 inches
Length is 22 inches
Hemline is 38 inches

For the Skirt:
Waist is 26 to 29 inches fully stretched
Hip is 40 and 1/2 inches
Hemline width is 36 inches
Full length is 24 inches

As you can see in the photos, the line of white knit trim is used around the collar, along the bottom edge and at the sleeve cuffs.

The skirt has that white linear trim at the waistline front and along the bottom hem.

Cream color enamel and gold tone metal SJ buttons close the front of the blazer and there is a small gold tone metal accent at the front waistline of the skirt.

The label inside identifies this as a St. John Collection by Marie Gray and shows size 4 for the blazer and also for the skirt.

Made in USA, for the future these must be dry cleaned due to the 80% wool and 20% rayon. It is the famous santana knit, which has a built-in stretch and comfort, with the added quality of resisting wrinkles and bagging.

Of course, because of when this was made, there are Internal shoulder pads are in this blazer.

The collar is a traditional fold down type.

As with most SJK santana knit items, the fabric is unlined.

For the skirt, it has the traditional elastic waist, no pockets and is the knee length style meant to come to just above or right at the knee for most women. Because of the white line trim at the waist, the fit there is tighter than with the normal elastic band in SJK skirts. Allow for that when you consider the measurements.
