Spray of Flowers Brooch with Various Purple Rhinestones and Opaque Beads 2 by 1 and 1/2 Inch, Late 30s Or Early 40s$22.25
Three shades of purple are used in this vintage gold wash three-dimensional brooch. From the 1930's or 1940's it is made to look like a spray of flowers on a stem, with leaves. Four background flowers are largest, with opaque lavender and black details. The six smallest flowers are prong set aurora borealis rhinestones and one medium flower is an amethyst color prong set rhinestone.
As can been seen in the photos, this is on a base of gold tone metal. The flowers sit on top of the stem, in increasing sizes.
Three dimensional in shape, due to the stem, the leaves and the shapes of the flowers, this is 2 inches long by 1 and 1/2 inches wide, at the largest points.
Because of the three-dimensional design, there is a rise of 5/8 inch from the base.
The back has a secure rolling c type clasp.
Well made, with great attention to details, sadly it is not stamped or signed in any way and may have come only with a paper hang tag that has been lost over time.
I have owned this particular brooch since the mid 1970's when I purchased it an estate sale in San Francisco. When I bought it there were no coordinating earrings, however I have always been able to find vintage purple earrings that work well because of the various purple colors in this piece. Even vintage gold tone earrings are a great match to this piece.
In Excellent Vintage Condition there are no issues to report or signs of age on this piece. Everything is in good working order, all the stones are intact, secure and shiny and the metal does not have any tarnished areas.
