50's Silver Tone Bolero Faux Pearl Necklace$35.00
This necklace is a bolero style, like a bolo tie, where the two charms can be adjusted up or down guided through a square shaped fixture. The two faux pearls are in bud shaped components hanging from another faux pearl and measure 1. 5 inches. The history of faux pearls made at this time is interesting. Please read more in our FAQ section. The chain is thick, but not heavy.
There are no marks or manufacturer name on this piece.
NecromanceNola sells this type of vintage necklace often since it was well made, usually plated multiple times and had unique design. The silver tone plating is still in excellent condition.
This metal necklace is circa 1950 and made by a high end costume jewelry maker of the time. The first half of the 20th century was the heyday for well made costume jewelry sold from fine department stores to Woolworth, usually made in Europe or the United States. The manufacture and quality of costume jewelry deteriorated in the latter part of the century making this era the last with enduring products.
