This is a silver tone tone mesh bracelet or arm band from the 1960's. The mesh and wire inside allows the bracelet to wrap nicely around the wrist or arm. It can wrap around the upper arm easily since it is so long. It fits a medium to large size woman's wrist or arm. The snake head has nice detail and measures 2 x .5 inches. The tail component measures 1.25 inches. Underneath the head has the Whiting & Davis stamp, but is almost obscured from the multiple platings. The silver tone mesh resemble scales.
This serpent bracelet was made by a high end costume jewelry company at the time, Whiting and Davis, a company in business since the late 1800's and known for their metal chain mail and mesh accessories. These were always plated many times to keep their nice bright color. It is light weight and coils around the wrist or arm nicely. The silver plating is still bright. It is pliable enough to fit up your arm, but don't stretch it too much or often. Remember, it is 60 years old and could start to lose its elasticity!
