This early 1950s black straw hat has a schoolgirl vibe, youthful and perky, with its coral velvet band and back bow, and sweet lacy trim decorating the top of the brim. The brim is widest at the center front of the hat, almost disappearing at the center back. The slightly rounded, nearly flat crown is designed to perch on top of the head, either straight on or tilted, as preferred. An inner circle of velvet-covered wire, with loops attached at each side, will help to keep the hat in place when worn. In very good condition, the hat has a few light marks on the lacy trim, and the velvet ribbon band looks a bit faded with age, neither of which should be noticed when this darling 1950s straw hat is worn.
