Schiaparelli Triple Strand Bracelet Double Signed Rare Vintage White Bumpy Bead Aurora Borealis and Prong Set Rhinestones 7 Es Long by Schiaparelli$425.00
From Schiaparelli, this classic triple strand bracelet features aurora borealis coated white bumpy beads. Double signed, her iconic script logo is on backs of both ends of the clasp. As you can see, the clasp is so lovely you may want to wear it to show in front. On both sides of it a shell-like white bead is paired with a cabochon bead, which is surrounded by 5 small prong-set rhinestones.
At the back there is a slide-in style clasp, with an attached safety chain. Those types of safety chains were used only by higher-end jewelry designers. With those in place women would feel much safer knowing the bracelet was doubly secured on their wrist.
Spectacular in style, this design is the perfect accent for your vintage or contemporary attire...not too big, not too flashy. It is a neutral color accessory that personalizes any outfit.
The aurora borealis coatings on the combination of bead styles and sizes takes this to a new level. You are bound to get compliments every time you wear this fabulous vintage treasure.
In width the bracelet is 1 inch wide. It is 7 inches long once it is fastened, so it is meant to fit comfortably on a wrist of 6 and 1/2 inches or less in size to allow freedom of movement.
In Excellent Vintage Condition, all of the beads have their original coating and are shiny and intact in their settings. The back etched silver tone metal shows virtually no signs of age or wear, as evidenced in the photos.
My photos do not do this bracelet justice. It is absolutely gorgeous and is the only Schiaparelli bracelet I have seen like this in all my years of collecting and wearing vintage jewelry.
Those who adore vintage fashion jewelry need no introduction to the name Elsa Schiaparelli. Here is a bit more about her that you may not know, thanks to the experts at Wikipedia: Along with her clothing and hats, Schiaparelli famously designed fashion jewelry from the 1930's thought the 1950's. She created bracelets, earrings, brooches and necklaces with extraordinary designs and distinctive materials. Elsa Schiaparelli, along with her arch-rival Coco Chanel, was responsible for the acceptance and success of costume jewelry. Both women designed specific pieces to adorn their haute couture clothing. Schiaparelli believed that costume jewelry, in addition to being an essential part of fashion design, was an art form in its own right. She collaborated with many jewelry designers as well as with Surrealist artists who were her friends.
