**Some History of the Rose Marie Reid Company - She began her swim company in the 1940's. Her Motto was: "Every woman should feel just as Glamorous in a Swimsuit as a Evening Gown". She was the first to include elasticized fibers into her fabrics as well as perfecting the water-repellant fibers. She was also the first to put brassieres into her suits. Her suits were worn by Rita Hayworth, Marilyn Monroe, and Jane Russell in the 50's. In 1946 she moved to California where Bathing Suit Designers were making names for themselves. Three years later Lord and Taylor displayed her suits in one of their showcase windows. It was constructed of 29-Karat Gold and was for sale for $100. Can you imagine??
