A medallion lace center accents the softly shaped bodice of the gown. That lace medallion is repeated in the back of the robe's yoke. Button front, the robe has long sleeves. A-line in shape, the matching gown is sleeveless and the lace continues through the midriff and up along the straps. Paper hang tags show this is from 1987.

Both garments are embellished with 3 inch wide floral scalloped edge lace and the armholes of the gown are edged with a narrow row of flat lace. That same lace is used on the cuffs of the robe.

Eight buttons line the front of the robe. Two hidden side pockets confirm how well made this vintage Shadowline robe was.

This was an original Salesroom sample, meant to be displayed in a Shadowline showroom. That is where department store and boutique lingerie buyers would come to see what was available to order. The salesroom is where they could buy merchandise in bulk for a future season.

It is in Mint Vintage condition, worn only briefly here for this photo session. There are no odors or stains in the nylon. All the seams are intact and the colors are true.
