Here is the perfect vintage brooch for someone who loves to fish or who has a fish tank! As you can see in the detail photo, the body of the fish is fleshed out with nature-themed scenes. For example, the eye of the fish is an eagle's face and beak, a leaping dolphin appears in the tail, a turtle shell is in the body and a tiger crouches there too.

This big, bold and colorful vintage fish brooch is from the 1980's era. Brightly colored with an orange and white background, the entire brooch is three-dimensional, as can be clearly noted in the detailed photos. The overall size is 3 and 1/8 inches by 2 and 1/4 inches. Because of the three-dimensional effect, this rise from the base is 1/2 inch.

As a bonus to the new owner, this novelty fish brooch will arrive with the complimentary small silk Sant Angelo water-themed scarf shown in these photos. Of course both the scarf and the brooch are fabulously versatile accessories, whether worn together or separately.

To make this a magnetic-back, I removed the old pin-style clasp and added a new orange disk backing and a new magnetic back clasp to make it much easier and more secure to wear.

I firmly attached a very strong magnet that will hold this brooch to your garment, handbag, scarf, or virtually wherever you want it to be, that is, until you choose to remove it.

Because of the options offered by the magnet vs. the traditional pin holder normally used on brooches, this brooch can be worn on many types of garments or even hats.

Quality neodymium rare earth Magnetic Fasteners are used on the back of each brooch as opposed to the traditional pin clasp. The magnetic backs are easy to use:
With your thumb, PUSH and SLIDE the top magnet off the bottom magnet. (DO NOT try to pull them apart because they are too strong.) Remember to always SLIDE.
Position your brooch anywhere convenient on top of your clothing and place the removed magnet beneath your garment and in back of the top magnet. Make sure you have the color-coded portion of the back magnet on the outside of the back. The 2 portions of the magnets will immediately bond together to create a secure attachment.
When you are ready to remove the brooch, remember to use the same technique you used to put it on. Always SLIDE the bottom magnet off.
