I'm calling this the Tinkerbell dress— it is such a rare find! It was made in the early 1930s by Lady Duff. A little history: Lucy Christiana, Lady Duff-Gordon was a leading designer in the late 19th/early 20th century. She created clothing under both "Lady Duff" and "Lucile" and was revolutionary in so many ways: she originated the precursor to the modern fashion show, and introduced slit skirts, low necklines, and less restrictive corsets. From a modern perspective, when we look at this slip, we see a form-fitting bias-cut dress, but for her era, this was a very relaxed silhouette, as it didn't contain any corset elements, and freely grazed the body. It is made of a gorgeous silk crepe in a pale shade of celery green. It features the most expertly crafted cups at the bust, which are cut and draped to look like leaves. This element is complemented by the jagged edge at the bottom— it really does look like what Tinkerbell would wear in real life. The waistline is accentuated by the belt tie in the back.
