Inside on the Lid is a Carved Whale

The Design on the Plaque features a Mermaid Holding Flowers in One Hand and a Nantucket Basket in the Other Hand. There are two sailboats in the background and a Lighthouse. Inside there is a Carved Whale on the Lid. In the Bottom there is a 2004 penny. The Bottom is Signed Farnum with 2004. The Coloring of this Nantucket Basket has a Beautiful Brown Hue.

Handmade Ivoryite, synthetic ivory, was used for the Closure, the sides of the handles, and the plaque. Ivoryrite was created to substitute for ivory to eliminate the needless hard to animals.

Height - 8" without the handle, 12. 5" with the handle

Near MINT Condition - This Beautiful Mermaid Handbag is in Excellent Condition. It is only qualified as Near MINT because it has a couple of tiny scratches on the bottom. It looks as if it was used very little. Perhaps it was Stored in a Case to Look Beautiful. The Card from Farnum is still in the Handbag. It is Ready to Add to Your Handbag Collection and to Carry!
