This STUNNING vintage Pierre Cardin dress was purchased at Hurwitch Bros. in Boston, right on Newbury street. This wonderful dress is an interesting fabric - very thick, almost like a bark cloth, but embossed with a geometric wave pattern that really gives it a quilted effect. Very flattering as the thick fabric hides any problem areas. There's a capelet, with tight elastic in the shoulders for that slightly off the shoulder look, and the capelet closes in the back with snaps. There's an invisible zipper at the back center. Bodice is lined, but skirt is unlined. Concealed pockets at the hips.

Bust measures 36", waist 29", hip 40", length 54".

I believe this dress to be dated to between 1969 and 1972.

This dress is a visual stunner, but does have some cosmetic flaws. There's some discoloration on the trim along the capelet's edge, as well as some spotting and stains at the back hip. For risk of color bleed, I did not try to clean this item and do not have a reliable dry cleaner in my area. For these reasons, I leave dry cleaning to the buyer. Otherwise the dress is quite structurally sound, with a perfectly working zipper, snaps, closures, etc.
