This traditional pair of vintage female figurines were made by the Shafford Company in Japan. During the period from 1940 through the 1970's this company was well known for their fine bone white China. For this pair of classically attired female figures, the china is white and very three dimensional due to the fine detailing of the design.

Both figurines are 7 inches tall and just over 2 inches wide. The original Shafford Japan logo is on the base of both pieces.

Shafford made a wide variety of designs, some of which were vividly painted, some were left plain white. Many of their pieces represented fantasy animals, children, religious figures, planters, tea sets and other collectibles. It is unusual to find a pair of figures like these, all white, classically attired in Robes along with the traditional headpieces and geta sandals.

In the photos I show all sides of the figures and you can see there is no damage at all. These are in Excellent Vintage Condition. The video especially shows the depth of the design elements.

These would be fantastic additions to your Shafford Bone China collection, or to any collection that features finely made figurines.
