Mid-Century Modern Large Solid Teak Wood Kalmar Salad Bowl and Serving Utensils

This vintage MCM serving set was hand crafted from solid, genuine teak wood. The bowl is very large and heavy in weight. It comes with two matching serving utensils with long exaggerated handles. All three pieces have an ultra mid-century modern Danish style and shape and classic teak streaking grain detailing. Perfect for serving salad, fruit, or a family meal in your dining room! They could also be used for outdoor dining thanks to teak's unique properties. Teak is unique to other woods and not only is it a strong, durable hardwood, it produces its own oil and has a high wax content, making it the ideal material for outdoor use as the teak oil makes it waterproof and undesirable to wood-eating insects.

Teak wood pieces are extra special due to how slowly this particular tree grows. They can only be harvested at a minimum age of 20 years! The demand of high market and a declining number of this tree, makes the price of wood always increase every year and the amount of pieces made with teak decrease. Always a pleasure to find genuine teak!

Condition:
Great vintage condition with minimal signs of surface imperfections, consistent with age. No structural damages and comes from a smoke free home so the bowls retain the lovely teak smell (like leather) that collectors love!

Measurements:
Bowl - 8" Height x 11 3/4" Diameter
Utensils - 12" long fork , 14" long spoon
