For a basic black fabric pillbox style hat, this one from Merrimac Hat Corporation tops them all. You can add a brooch as an accent, a fabric flower, a bit of trim or wear it as is. It is 2 inches tall and 8 inches across. Inside there is an elastic band to help hold the hat on your head. That elastic is meant to go behind your head, under your hair. When you don't need the elastic it can be tucked inside the hat.

A photo is included of the logo inside. I can read that this is 94% wool and 6% something else, but I can't make out what that other word is.

Made in the USA, this is in Excellent Vintage Condition.

Versatile in how you choose to wear it, this pillbox hat can be worn off to either side or back on the crown of your head.
