Lucie Ann
Lucie Ann Nightgown Pastel Pink Sheer White Lace Yoke and Cuffs Small Polyestercotton Mix A-Line Fit 70s Vintage by Lucie Ann$42.00
With a vintage 1970's label, this Lucie Ann pastel pink Size Small nightgown features a square neck bodice accented with sheer white 2 and 1/2 inch wide floral lace. That same lace trims the cuffs of the short wide sleeves and a narrow 1 and 1/2 inch version is at the hemline. Lucie Ann styles from this era are treasured for for their feminine style and pedigree. Lucie Ann lingerie was founded in 1947 by Lucie Ann Onderwyzer, who passed away in 1988. She became renowned for her extensive use of nylon tricot peignoirs trimmed with marabou. Based in Beverly Hills, California, her lingerie found favor with the stars, and was featured in the TV series Green Acres, as worn by Eva Gabor. One of her signature design elements is the applique added to the yokes. Notice the small pink floral appliques used on this gown.
The fabric label reads "Lucie Ann, Made in U. S.A., RN 18202 Size Small, 65% Polyester 35% Cotton, RN 49138". Laundry instructions show it is hand or machine washable and can be tumbled dry on low. I always recommend hanging vintage lingerie to dry because I believe that helps it stay looking its best for an even longer life.
A-line, with the fabric softly gathered on the square lace yoke, it has a very figure friendly fit. Here are the measurements so you can assure yourself this gown will fit you well:
Bust ~~~ 40 inches
Sleeves ~~~ 5 inches measured from the side seam
Armhole opening ~~~ 22 inches
Waist ~~~ 56 inches
Hip ~~~ 64 inches
Full length ~~~ 38 inches
Hemline width ~~~ 78 inches
I have freshly laundered this night gown and it will arrive ready to wear right out of the package.
It is in Excellent Vintage condition and it was stored well by the original owner. There are virtually no signs this gown was ever worn.
There are no stains, snags, odors or torn seams.
It comes to you from a pet-free, smoke-free home.
After the designer passed away in 1988 her company continued to produce lingerie. Any garments made after 1988 are labeled as Lucie Ann II to distinguish them from the earlier pieces.
