Made by Shadowline in the USA, this white knee length nightgown is New Old Stock, with its original paper hang tag attached. At the empire waist yoke there is a feminine floral rose embroidery design. Five front buttons line the top and those edges are trimmed with the same lace as is around the collar. The full length sleeves are generously cut, with pleats at the cuffs.

This super soft Shadowline nylon is machine washable and can be tumbled dry on low. Because the paper hang tag is attached I have not laundered this gown. I always recommend hanging vintage lingerie to dry because I believe that gives it a longer life.

Shadowline was a lingerie company, located in Morganton, North Carolina. It was founded in 1946 by Sherrod Salsbury, Jr. The company had the reputation of producing lingerie of very high quality.

This was an original Salesroom sample, meant to be displayed in a Shadowline showroom. That is where department store and boutique lingerie buyers would come to see what was available to order. The salesroom is where they could buy merchandise in bulk for a future season.

This classic nightgown is in unworn Mint Pristine Vintage condition, only worn briefly for this photo shoot. As you can see, it looks very much like a dress when it is worn.

There are no snags, all the seams are intact and there are no stains, holes or other issues.
