In a pastel yellow nylon color Shadowline calls "Sunlite", this never worn full length sleeveless nightgown features a lace accented yoke, A-line shape and lettuce leaf gently curved hemline with side slits. As can be seen in the photos, this is a figure forgiving fit, with the body of the nightgown slightly gathered onto the empire waist style yoke. Made in the USA, it is a lovely classic nightgown, ready to be worn and enjoyed by someone now. In the 1980's the retail price shown on the tag was $42, which is equivalent to $123 in today's dollar value.

Shadowline was a lingerie company, located in Morganton, North Carolina, founded in 1946 by Sherrod Salsbury, Jr. The company had the reputation of producing lingerie of very high quality.

This was an original Salesroom sample, meant to be displayed in a Shadowline showroom. That is where department store and boutique lingerie buyers would come to see what was available to order. The salesroom is where they could buy merchandise in bulk for a future season.
