Late 1800s Leg O Mutton Sleeve Striped Shirtwaist - 1800s Stripe Blouse - Victorian Stripe Blouse - Victorian Cotton Blouse | Size Small

I absolutely LOVE the colors on this late 1800s Victorian shirtwaist blouse. The fabric is a shirt-weight cotton featuring an orange, lime green, dark brown and taupe repeating vertical stripe. All the design elements you come to expect from a bodice of this era, high banded collar, massive leg o mutton sleeves and a full front bodice with hidden hook and eye closures. The forearm portion of the sleeves are nipped snug with snap closures at the cuffs. The interior bodice is fully lined in cotton with no internal boning for a more comfortable fit and the original waist hooks are still intact.

Condition is listed as very good with a few cosmetic notations. There is some general discoloration (dinge) noted to the white of the banded collar. The blouse has been thoroughly, gently washed, however I believe with some more careful attention to the collar it may brighten further. I believe there is a period repair to the back right shoulder, this is generally unseen without very close inspection and presents as a simple seam stitch - noted for full disclosure. The blouse is 100% wearable and structurally sound with general age noted as you would expect from a garment of this age. I believe the bodice hook/eye may have been replaced at one time as the interior waist hooks show some rust and age - this does not present when the blouse is worn.
